About Break Room
Break Room is a pool league companion app. League admins use it to set up leagues, divisions and competitions, generate fixtures and approve results. Captains manage their teams, and players submit scores, follow live standings and track their statistics.
Break Room is free to use. Optional paid memberships (Core and Pro) unlock extras, and some leagues charge for season registration (see section 5). Members on the Free and Core plans see adverts (see section 6).
Break Room is a tool for running leagues. We don’t organise or run the leagues themselves, set their rules, or operate the venues where matches are played.
Who Can Use Break Room
- •Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- •Under 18s. If you’re under 18, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission to use Break Room and to make any purchase.
- •One person, one account. Your account is for you alone. Don’t share it or create accounts for other people without their permission.
- •Accurate details. Your name, date of birth and gender must be accurate. Leagues rely on them for age- and gender-restricted competitions, so changes to your date of birth and gender are limited.
Your Account
You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Apple, Google or Facebook. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away at drydenjamie@gmail.com if you think someone else has access to it.
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Sign-in & Security → Delete Account), or by following the steps on our Delete Account page. Deleting your account permanently removes your personal details. Match results and statistics are kept in anonymised form so that past league tables stay accurate. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription, so cancel that first (see section 5).
Leagues, Teams and Results
- •League admins and captains are responsible for running their leagues and teams fairly, for the rules and competitions they set up, for approving results and members, and for any fees or prizes they arrange outside Break Room.
- •Results are submitted and approved by players, captains and admins. We don’t check them, and disputes about results, rules, eligibility or conduct should be settled within your league. We may help where we reasonably can, but we’re not responsible for decisions made by league admins or captains.
- •Visibility. Your profile, teams, results and statistics are visible to other Break Room users, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
- •Playing matches. Matches take place at venues we don’t control. We’re not responsible for what happens at a venue, or for travel to and from matches.
Memberships, Payments and Refunds
Core and Pro memberships
Core and Pro are optional subscriptions that unlock extra features, such as full league fixtures and standings, badges and XP, detailed player and team statistics, push notifications and, with Pro, an ad-free experience and advanced analytics. The current features and prices are shown on our Pricing page and in the app before you buy. Prices in the App Store or Google Play may differ slightly by country.
- •Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the price shown when you bought it, until you cancel.
- •Cancelling. Cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or, if you subscribed on our website, under Account → Subscriptions → Manage subscription. You keep your membership until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Cancelling never affects your match history or teams.
- •Price changes. We’ll tell you about any price increase in advance, and you can cancel before it applies. The App Store and Google Play may also ask you to accept a new price.
Season registration
Some leagues require registration to be paid for each season. Depending on how the league is set up, a league admin pays for the places the league needs, or a captain pays for their team, or a player pays for their own place. These are one-off purchases for that season, not subscriptions. Places are sold in packs, so a league may end up with a few spare places. Places can’t be exchanged for cash or transferred to another league.
Payments and refunds
Purchases in the app are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. Refund requests for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. Purchases on our website are processed by Stripe; contact us at drydenjamie@gmail.com about a refund for those.
If something you’ve paid for is faulty or not as described, you have rights under consumer law, and we’ll put things right as the law requires. Otherwise, except where the law says so, we don’t give refunds for part-used subscription periods or for season registration once it has been used.
Adverts and Sponsors
Members on the Free and Core plans see adverts provided by Google AdMob. If you’re under 18, adverts are never tailored to you. If you’re 18 or over, the app asks for your permission before any adverts load, and adverts are only tailored to you if you agree. You can change your choice at any time, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Pro members see no adverts.
Leagues may show sponsors in the app. Adverts and sponsor content come from third parties. We don’t endorse them and aren’t responsible for their products, services or websites.
Your Content
“Your content” is anything you add to Break Room, such as your profile photo, team crests, team and league names, and the results and scores you submit.
- •You own it. You keep ownership of your content.
- •You let us use it to run Break Room. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize and display your content so we can provide the Services, including showing it to other users. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for results and statistics, which are kept in anonymised form so league records stay accurate.
- •You’re responsible for it. You confirm that you have the right to upload your content, that it doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights, and that it follows section 8.
We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without owing you anything.
Acceptable Use
When using Break Room, you must not:
- •Submit results or scores you know are false, or otherwise cheat or manipulate standings, statistics, XP or leaderboards.
- •Harass, bully, threaten or abuse anyone, or upload content that is offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, defamatory or illegal, including in profile photos, crests and names.
- •Pretend to be someone else, or give false information about yourself, including your date of birth or gender.
- •Collect or misuse other users’ personal information, or use Break Room to send spam.
- •Copy, scrape, reverse engineer or decompile the app or website, except as the law allows.
- •Use bots, scripts or other automated tools, or create accounts automatically.
- •Try to get around security features, payment checks or access limits, or interfere with the Services or other people’s use of them.
- •Use Break Room for anything illegal, or resell it without our written permission.
Names, photos and reporting
You must not post or use names, photos or other content that is offensive, abusive, harassing or illegal. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour, and names containing offensive words are blocked automatically.
Break Room may remove or change content, and suspend or close accounts, that break this rule. League admins may also remove players or teams from their leagues and competitions.
To report a problem, tap Report on any player or team page in the app, or email us at drydenjamie@gmail.com. We review reports promptly, and we never tell the person you report who reported them.
Our Intellectual Property
The Break Room app, website, name, logo, designs and software belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Services for running and taking part in pool leagues, in line with these terms. You may not copy, modify or use our brand or content for any other purpose without our written permission.
Suspending or Closing Accounts
We may suspend or close your account, or remove access to features, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we have to for legal reasons, or to protect other users or the Services. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to put things right first.
If we close your account and you haven’t broken these terms, we’ll refund any amount you paid us directly for a period you can no longer use. You can stop using Break Room and delete your account at any time.
Changes to Break Room and These Terms
We’re always improving Break Room, so features may change, and occasionally we may remove one. If a change significantly reduces something you’ve paid for, we’ll tell you, and you can cancel and receive a refund for any unused period you paid us for directly.
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. If we make significant changes, we’ll tell you in advance in the app, on our website or by email. If you don’t agree with the changes, you can stop using Break Room and delete your account before they apply.
We work hard to keep Break Room running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. It may be unavailable at times, for example during maintenance.
Third-Party Services and Links
Break Room relies on other companies’ services, such as Apple, Google and Facebook sign-in, the App Store and Google Play, and links to sponsors’ and advertisers’ websites. Your use of those services is covered by their own terms and privacy policies, and we’re not responsible for them.
Our Responsibility to You
We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it’s obvious it will happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you agreed to these terms. We’re not responsible for loss or damage that isn’t foreseeable.
Break Room is for personal and recreational use. We’re not responsible for any loss of profit, business or business opportunity, or for the outcome of matches, competitions or prizes.
We don’t exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breaching your legal rights as a consumer. If faulty digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and this is because we didn’t use reasonable care and skill, we’ll repair the damage or compensate you.
Apart from these cases, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of £100 or the total you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Apple App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded Break Room from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- •These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- •Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- •If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- •We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- •If anyone claims the app infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- •You confirm you’re not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and you’re not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- •You must follow any third-party terms that apply when using the app, such as your mobile network’s terms.
- •Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded Break Room from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply to your download and purchases.
Governing Law and Disputes
If you have a problem, please contact us at drydenjamie@gmail.com first. Most issues can be sorted out quickly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in Scotland, and if you live in Northern Ireland, in Northern Ireland.

- •Whole agreement. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
- •Transferring this agreement. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if Break Room is sold. We will tell you, and your rights under these terms won’t be affected. You may only transfer your rights with our written permission.
